Vietnam is gearing up to combat dengue, a mosquito-bome fever which kills thousands of children in Asia and more than a million worldwide. Aus Aid, Australia's national aid agency, is helping it in its endeavour. They are planning to use an organism called mesocyclops to get rid of the deadly mosquitoes. in a joint project, Vietnamese and Australian scientists will introduce mesocyclops in the most-affected areas and hope that it will feed the larvae without harming drink- ing water supplies. Apart from providing financial support, Aus Aid is training the Vietnamese medical staff as well.
