As part of CSE's green schools programme, we look at Shivalik valley public school in Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh this time. The school has successfully used solar energy to go green and save money.
Students at this senior secondary school are taught how to convert solar energy into electrical energy. This school has become an example for the entire region and residents are taking inspiration from this school to install solar panels in their houses.
The solar panel, which is 29 feet wide and 70 feet long, was installed within two months of the school becoming operational.
