Vaccination against COVID-19 will undergo major modifications next month. Here’s a quick glance.
The Serum Institute of India (SII) April 21, 2021 announced pricing of its Covishield vaccine when, effective May 1 from when half the doses of vaccines against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) would not have to land with the Union government.
The Pune based manufacturer priced the vaccine at Rs 400 per dose for state governments and Rs 600 per dose for private hospitals. Currently, the vaccine costs Rs 250 at a private hospital, a price fixed by the Narendra Modi government.
The company claimed its vaccine would sell cheaper than others elsewhere in the world, claiming that the following price points were prevalent in the world:
