Singhorgarh Sanctuary encroachment
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on January 14 disposed of the application on the encroachment of forest land of Singhorgarh Sanctuary, Madhya Pradesh. This was in lieu of the report submitted by the state's principal chief conservator of forest that said encroachment from forest land had been removed and it had been fenced.
Trees being cut in North Sagar
The NGT on January 14 directed Madhya Pradesh's principal chief conservator of forest to look into why trees had been cut illegally while installing a flash butt welding plant at North Sagar Division in the state.
Wood used as fuel
The NGT on January 14 directed the Gujarat Pollution Control Board to take action against polluting industries operating in the industrial area of Dahod and using wood as fuel and lacking the requisite authorisations.
Mismanagement of waste
The NGT on January 14 directed the deputy commissioner of Hamirpur Municipal Council and the Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board to submit a report on waste being burnt and polluting a water body in Dughneri village. The village is located in Himachal Pradesh's Hamirpur district.
