People in Maharashtra can be penalised for using plastic
Manufacturers and citizens have been given three months' time to dispose of the banned plastic items, following which, if anyone is found with such items they will be penalised, the Maharashtra government told the Bombay high court.
No dust control, no construction
The Ministry of Environment and Forests has ordered stopping of work at 25 construction sites, including Metro and road construction, in New Delhi asking them to comply with dust control norms.
Construction sites to be covered to control air pollution
The Public Works Department, the Uttarakhand Environment Protection and Pollution Control Board and the Mussorie Dehradun Development Authority are taking big steps to improve air quality in the city. These include covering construction sites, asking event organisers to clean the venue, and finding new sites to dump construction debris.
Sources of pollution to be identified in Delhi
A mega emission inventory campaign has been launched by System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) to identify 26 sources of pollution in the national capital.
